THE STORY BEHIND THE “MEN WITHOUT HATS” BAND NAME
Initially founded as a punk rock band in Montreal in 1977, the band adopted its definitive name and a new musical genre in 1979. At that time, the group’s name came under the impulse of the Doroschuk brothers: Ivan, Stefan, and Colin. Before the band creation, following a self-described principle of “style before comfort”, the three brothers refused to wear hats during the cold winters in Canada and called themselves already “the men without hats” on that time. This is where the band’s name finally comes from.
