THE STORY BEHIND THE “ABBA” BAND NAME

The group’s name of this commercially successful act that won winning the Eurovision Song Contest in 1974 and topped the charts since then and until 1982, is an acronym of the first letters of the band members’ first names: Agnetha Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson and Anni-Frid Lyngstad (a.k.a. Frida). This is where the name ABBA comes from.
